The Internet Marketing Cure

I came across this killer report earlier today that was written by this guy who is well known for publishing highly controversial reports on internet marketing.

Well, he’s done it again and this one is totally off the charts…

He talks about all kinds of crazy stuff from ebola viruses, to gold rush miners, to a new breed of “silent assasin” he calls “DuRus”.

He also gives some of the best advice I’ve ever read on gaining true focus and clarity, and talks about
a no-nonsense plan for taking any business to the same income levels as the “real” big boys are doing.

The stuff just makes sense.

Gotta give him credit…he tells it like it is, and you certainly won’t hear anybody else saying this kind of stuff.

Best part is though, he’s giving it all away for nothing!

Go grab your copy now…not sure how long it will be available.

How To Find A Marketing Niche Invention

hot bagWhat is the easiest way to think of a new invention?

It’s so simple sometimes it boggles my mind: Take anything from your every day life and MAKE IT BETTER! If there’s a niche that’s not being filled or a way to improve anything you do, I guarantee people will buy it.

The trick is just spotting that opportunity. Million dollar ideas are literally everywhere, waiting for someone to stumble upon them. If these products don’t make you realize that, I don’t know what will.

What my guests on Monday did is they took something that frustrated them so much that they just had to do something about it! Take Cozy Friedman for example. She took a parent’s monthly nightmare–getting a child a hair cut–and transformed it into something the kids were virtually begging to do. Jennifer Panepinto and Gregg Levin–with both Mesu Bowls and the Perfect Curve–have taken a process and simplified it, making life easier, AND are now making millions! Quiqlite, Breezies and the Peanut sling also accomplish similar things, plain and simple: they make things better, they make life easier.

The take-home message here is that you don’t have to come up with something entirely novel for it to be a winning innovation. You can’t let the thought that “this is too simple, this is too easy” stop you from really pursuing an idea you believe in. Most of the time, when an idea or a product is just “too simple” or “too easy” and it’s not already out there, you’ve got yourself a million dollar idea!

Green Taxis Create Marketing Niche

green cabsThe evening was to be a launch, of sorts. The Durham Bulls were opening an eight-game home stand June 14. What better way to promote the wind-in-your-face fun of a pedicab ride than offering free pregame rides from the parking lot to the ballpark?

“A limited audience, I guess, ” Dana Di Maio said as he sat on his dark blue pedicab after the game started. “I took three rides total … no, four.”

Di Maio is the part-time pedicab coordinator for Greenway Transit, part of a Durham nonprofit pushing a variety of “green” initiatives ranging from its fleet of biodiesel buses and vans to biofuels to Third World fair trade.

Right now Di Maio is also the only driver for the two pedicabs that over time he hopes will become part of the streetscape linking the American Tobacco Historic District, downtown Durham, Brightleaf Square and Ninth Street. He’s looking for drivers and exposure, some of which the pedicabs will get Saturday in the parade that accompanies Durham Rising.

Di Maio’s first riders of the evening last week couldn’t pass up the free novelty, which came with their confession: “I’m lazy,” said both Curtis Walker, 18, and Michael Leathers, 19, before jumping into the pedicab for a brisk three-minute ride from the East Pettigrew Street parking deck around the corner to the ballpark’s front entrance on Blackwell Street. Among the other riders were a middle-aged couple and two younger women.

“The people seemed to like it,” Di Maio said. “One person said it was like New York.”

Entrepreneurs Sell iPhone On Craigslist

iphoneIf buying the new Apple iPhone isn’t enough of a status symbol, try having someone else do it for you. You’ll still be paying, of course–probably double, since many “stand-ins” are charging as much as the cost of the phone for their services–but at least you won’t have to wade through an endless line of anxious Apple enthusiasts to do it.

Over the past few weeks, Craigslist has become overrun with listings offering stand-in-line services for those who want iPhone status without the fuss. Buyers seeking stand-ins have several options to choose from as everyone from schoolteachers to high-school students are prepared to offer their services. Many highlight special line-standing techniques, such as policing the line for cutters, which they say will help them stand out among the competition. The practice has even become a part-time business for some, as popular releases, such as the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3, mean major bucks for stand-ins.

If your an entrepreneur and want to make money, do like we did with the PS3 or Nintendo Wii and sell it on eBay.

Penny Bay Offers Penny Online Auctions

penny bayThe new PennyBay.com websites’ motto boasts that you can place an Auction or Classifieds ad for less than a penny… hence the name “PennyBay”. Ad listings for less than a penny, means they’re literally free.

PennyBay.com offers their free auction and classified ad placements to registered sellers, and registration to the site is free. The PennyBay site is, of course, free for shoppers and buyers, to use as well.

The “PennyBay Auctions” function on the site allows sellers to place their goods in various style auctions such as “Standard”, “Private”, “Dutch”, and “Buy It Now”, just like the other pay auction sites, but without listing charges.

The “PennyBay Classifieds” function is just like any other pay classifieds newspaper or website, where sellers list their merchandise or services, within the “Employment”, “Real Estate” or “Personals” categories, etc., except on PennyBay.com, placing that classified ad is without costs. Uploading a few photos to any ad, auctions or classifieds, is free of costs as well.

Ads can be upgraded for just “pennies”, with the “Listing Extras” feature. The “Listing Extras” feature allows users to add additional indicators to their listing to attract more attention from potential buyers while they are browsing the site, with features such as “Attention Getter” images, “Featured Ad” or auction listing, “Preferred Placement”, & “Bolding” to draw special attention to ads. Again, listing most of these extras is available for just pennies on the dollar.

Smoothie Entrepreneur Success

smoothie marketingThe downside of mixing business with blood should be obvious - or at least it will be when you start getting late-night calls from Aunt Tillie asking about your schedule for an IPO.

But hitting up relatives is how a lot of businesses get going. It’s what Kyle Campos and his older brother Aaron had to do.

In 2004 the brothers, both software engineers, quit their jobs in Santa Barbara and decamped to Buckeye, Ariz. After visiting relatives there earlier that year, Kyle had become convinced that the town was “filled with wide-open opportunities,” especially compared with the software biz. “The tech sector was getting hit hard,” says Aaron. “I didn’t have a good feeling.”

Aaron and Kyle, neither of whom had run a business before, began brainstorming about starting one together. Both had frequented a smoothie joint in Santa Barbara, and they fell in love with the idea of starting their own. They found an industry consultant online who helped them write a business plan. Then they hired an experienced designer. The Main Squeeze would be a 1,200-square-foot store with hardwood floors and stainless-steel tables. And it would cost more than the $130,000 they had saved.

That’s when they drew up a list of 40 friends and relatives they could solicit as investors. “We wanted it to seem like we were offering them an authentic business opportunity,” notes Kyle. For that they turned to CircleLending, a site that helps informal borrowers create formal lending deals. The siblings spent $99 to set up a loan agreement, choosing an attractive interest rate (9%), a repayment schedule they figured they could afford (either five or seven years) and a $1,000 minimum.

Four folks each lent them $1,000, and another four each threw in $5,000. Last year the Campos brothers whipped up a profitable $210,000 in sales, and they’ve been paying their investors on schedule for close to two years. Says Kyle: “Not one has complained.”

Niche Beverage Drinks Gaining Speed

niche drinksNine years ago, Seth Goldman walked into a Whole Foods Market Inc. store with an empty bottle bearing a mocked-up label and five thermoses of iced tea he brewed in his kitchen.

He walked out with a purchase order for 15,000 bottles, the first step of a journey that has transformed him from the marketing manager of a social investment fund to the chief executive of Honest Tea, a beverage company he said will have sales of nearly $25 million this year.

Honest Tea is one of many independent drink makers carving out space in the increasingly fragmented U.S. nonalcoholic drinks market, worth about $105 billion a year, to the detriment of established companies.

With hits including Glaceau’s vitaminwater, which comes in rainbow hues, and Red Bull’s energy drink, agile start-ups are gaining traction as consumers seek alternatives to the traditional soft drinks sold by the industry giants.

“Unfortunately, the consumer is not cooperating with big brands the way they have in the past,” said Charles Frenette, a former chief marketing officer for Coca-Cola Co. and Miller Brewing Co. Continue reading →

Real People On Your Website Boost Sales?

womanEver run across a website where you just want to swat them off the screen?

A rather new website, LiveFaceOnWeb.com is an internet-based service that allows your website to have a real person as the face of your company.

They believe that real people on websites walking around and talking to you will help you make more sales.

At first I was really impressed with this service and business model. But frankly, the company’s website is rather annoying. I found navigating the website I got the same old guy and lady asking me if I have questions and telling me to click on them. “Got a question, click on us” …. long pause as I laugh at their smirk after that proposition.

Leave me alone old guy!

Anyways, after the ranting there are some things that are good about this service for your start up business.

  • Select from variety of models available on our web site. If you can’t find the look you are seeking, please contact us so we can work with you to find what you need.
  • Type in a script and we’ll have the model say what you want, the way you want it.
  • Explain what action, if any, you would like your model to do. Commonly you would want the model to point to something on screen when they describe a specific line of service or product from the main page. The model can also be sitting, walking, or simply standing.
  • Take the next step to have your model interact with your visitors. Let your model ask the necessary questions for you, and be a personal salesperson.

Innovative Company For Graphic Designer

Thought about an innovative new small business as a graphic designer? How about digital photo retouching services for a change.

A new online company called Pixilu Imaging Inc. provides professional retouching services as an online service. You upload digital photos and Pixilu’s graphic artists review each photo and perform color correction, acne removal, facial lines reduction, teeth whitening, and enhanced red-eye correction. The cost varies from $1.49 to $9.99 per photo.

They do pretty incredible work. Check out how they fixed (well, improved ever so slightly… sorry Guy) Guy Kawasaki’s picture.
